Letter from the Administrator
July 31, 2020
Hard to believe it is now August! Still as hot as ever!! We are right in the middle of the Corona virus pandemic and it has really changed our usual daily routines. I am sure we are all looking forward to the day when we will not have to wear masks. It will be a great day to actually see people smiling. Until then, let’s all continue to do our part and keep the masks over our nose and mouth. You can stay active by joining our Activity Staff as they conduct daily activities in the halls and also with in-room activities.
On a lighter note…………here are a few interesting historical events that took place in August:
- On August 8, 1963, was the Great Train Robbery in Britain. A gang of 15 robbers stole an estimated 2.6 million English pounds which equals 3.25 million dollars. However, in today’s market, the value of the stolen currency would be approximately 57.5 million dollars.
- On August 14, 1945, Japan surrendered which ended World War 2
- On August 31, 1900, Coca Cola was sold for the first time in Britain.
Enjoy each day!
